This is a recording of the last radio transmissions of Tampa Police Cpl. Mike Roberts, who was shot and killed while on duty on the night of Aug. 19, 2009. Highlights from the transmissions include: - Lincoln 61, Signal 80 at Nebraska and Arctic (This is Cpl. Roberts' last audible transmission. He is telling dispatch that he's about to question a suspicious person) - Police officers responding to unrelated calls for service - Cpl. Roberts clicked the mic on his radio (It appears he was trying to communicate with dispatch during the struggle) - Lincoln 61? (Immediately following the mic click, the dispatcher attempts to raise Cpl. Roberts on the radio) - Need units 10-51 for Lincoln 61 (When Cpl. Roberts doesn't respond, the dispatcher calls for backup units) - Sgt. Mumford and multiple officers from several squads notify dispatch they are responding to the call - Lincoln 61 10-34 (Dispatcher asks if Cpl. Roberts is Okay?) - Additional units responding as backup to Cpl. Roberts - Lincoln 61 10-34 (Dispatcher asks if Cpl. Roberts is Okay?) - No response 22:03 (Dispatcher notes time of no response) - Lincoln 1 10-33 (Sgt. Mumford is the first to arrive. He gives the emergency call sign indicating an officer is seriously injured) - (It is difficult to hear this chaotic transmission where Sgt. Mumford is giving the suspect's direction of travel and informing dispatch that he is armed - 10-0.) - Lincoln 61 is down (Sgt. Mumford saying Cpl. Roberts is down)More audio in this category:
