Treasure hunting company Odyssey Marine Inc. of Tampa has found two more sunken ships near the entrance to the English Channel, the company disclosed.
Both are "beyond the territorial waters or contiguous zone of any sovereign nation," the company said Wednesday in filings with the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. The company has taken preliminary video and surveys of the sites.
The two vessels are steel-hulled, the company revealed. One sits in 400 meters of water about 375 miles form the entrance to the English Channel (52 degrees 5 minutes north latitude and 13 degrees 56 minutes west longitude). The other sits in 600 meters of water about 325 miles from the channel (52 degrees 16 minutes north and 13 degrees 7 minutes west).
Odyssey's last major find was the Black Swan, a salvage that could be the richest ever and could net the company more than a half-billion dollars in gold and silver.
Odyssey disclosed few other details on these two recent wrecks in court documents.
Company officials did not respond to messages seeking comment Thursday.
