Busch Gardens' 4-acre Jungala recently was named Best New Theme Park Land by the Themed Entertainment Association, an international theme park industry group.
The honor was bestowed at a ceremony in Anaheim, Calif. Walt Disney World's EPCOT won the association's Classic Award.
Also honored for outstanding achievement were:
• Attraction: The Simpsons Ride, Universal Studios Hollywood, Calif., and Orlando
• Attractions, limited budget: BeWILDerwood, Norwich, U.K., and The Forgotten Mine, Molenheide, Belgium
• Museums: The Newseum, Washington, D.C, and the National Museum of the Marine Corps, Quantico, Va.
• Museum exhibit: Operation Spy, International Spy Museum, Washington, D.C.
• Museum exhibit, limited budget: Forces of Nature, Phoenix, Ariz.
• Learning experience: Air Force One Discovery Center, Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, Simi Valley, Calif.
• Technical: Muppet Mobile Lab, Hong Kong Disneyland
• Science center: Audubon Insectarium, Science Center, New Orleans
• Event spectacular: 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing
