A bicycle industry trade magazine awarded the South West Florida Bicycle United Dealers its national advocacy award in recognition of SWFBUD's efforts to lobby local governments and agencies to improve conditions for bicyclists in the Tampa Bay area and to promote bicycling.
The California-based Bicycle Retailer and Industry News generally honors a single retailer, but the journal made the distinction that SWFBUD organized individual retail outlets to promote the bicycling movement.
