Anticipating a spike in business, auto insurer Esurance is looking to hire 10 people in Tampa.
The San Francisco-company has been expanding in the Tampa Bay area lately to gear up for this winter, when many insurance customers are expected to renew policies or seek new ones. It has been adding 20 people to its Tampa office, at 701 S. U.S. 301, and has already filled 10 of them, a company spokesman said.
Esurance is looking to add another 10 workers for full-time jobs including sales agent, sales branch manager, total loss representative, salvage claims assistant and adjuster. Esurance has 163 people at its Tampa office and 1,660 nationwide.

While relatively few companies have been hiring much lately, insurers are among the few that have.
Insurance giant Humana has been putting about 180 people in the Bay area as it prepares to open a new division.
And Medicare insurer WellCare said this summer it was looking to fill 164 jobs throughout the company, even as it was cutting 87 jobs in certain administrative roles.
