»  Comments | Post a Comment

Guests at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay avoided significant injuries in 2008, reports filed with the Florida Bureau of Fair Rides Inspection show.

Florida's major parks reported 42 injuries - 30 at Walt Disney World, six at Universal Studios, four at Wet 'n Wild and two at SeaWorld - in reports filed this month.

The major parks conduct their own safety programs, but are required to file quarterly reports of injuries with state officials.

Disney World in Lake Buena Vista reported seven injuries from October through December, ranging from a fractured leg for a 61-year-old man who fell while attempting to get on the Splash Mountain ride, to a 41-year-old woman who reported numbness in her leg on the Tower of Terror.

During the fourth quarter, a 68-year-old man at Universal Studios Orlando reported chest pain on The Simpsons Ride.

A 53-year-old man reported a head injury at Wet 'n Wild's The Storm.
