Cigar maker accepting resumes

The maker of Davidoff cigars has set up an e-mail address to receive resumes for those interested in a position at its future Pinellas Park warehouse.

Oettinger Davidoff Group, based in Switzerland, is planning to relocate its U.S. headquarters from Stamford, Conn., to Pinellas Park within about six months. It is expected to hire up to 90 people at an average salary of $56,000.

Davidoff is accepting resumes at jobs@ddcls .com, according to the Pinellas County Economic Development department.

Tech company looking for help

Support.com, a technology support company for electronic gadgets, is looking to hire tech-savvy people in the Tampa Bay area. The Redwood City, Calif.-based company is looking to hire 150 people nationwide for work-from-home tech support jobs.

The Bay area is among the target markets the company is scouting for employees. The jobs would pay $13.50 to $15.50 an hour, depending on skill level, and workers would be eligible for other benefits. Information is available at http://corp.support.com/openings.

Local networking group swells

When they formed to help jobless real estate workers get back on their feet, the people behind Real Estate Lives couldn't have imagined how big it would become.

Today, the Tampa-based networking group has 550 members on its mailing list and takes at least partial credit for nearly 200 members finding jobs.

Formed in late 2008 by a group of real estate veterans to help hard-hit professionals, Real Estate Lives caught on so well that people from all lines of work have started attending its twice-monthly events.

Real Estate Lives holds its meetings at the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors, at 2918 W. Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa. Information is available at www.realestatelives.org.

Wal-Mart cuts 300 office jobs

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Wednesday that a cut of 300 headquarters workers completes a yearlong series of changes to its corporate structure that included laying off thousands of workers.

The workers include people in corporate affairs, finance, human resources, information systems and legal departments, Wal-Mart spokesman Dave Tovar said.
