TAMPA - A man accused of throwing an iron at his girlfriend is facing domestic violence and drug charges.
Ricky Jerome Gaston 39, was arrested at 12:46 a.m. after the altercation with Stacy Randazzo, Tampa Police spokeswoman Kristin Molina said.
Gaston, an IHOP cook who jail records show has no permanent address, asked Randazzo, who turns 37 in two days, to go to the store, Molina said.
Here was his reaction, Molina said:
She refused.
He picked up an iron and tossed it at her.
He missed.
She went outside and called police.
When police arrived at 810 Richmere St. E., they arrested him. Police searched his pockets and found less than 20 grams or marijuana, a misdemeanor if he's convicted.
He was also charged with domestic violence, a felony, as well as failing to appear on charges of domestic violence and giving a false name to a police officer, both misdemeanors.
Gaston was being held without bail at Orient Road Jail.
