In an interview shown on Fox 13 on November 29, a Bright House Networks spokesperson stated that in order to show the NFL Network, all customers would have to pay for something only a few people wanted to see. If that were actually a valid argument, wouldn't this also apply to many other channels?
For instance, I don't watch Spanish-language channels yet they are still a part of my bill. I also don't watch Lifetime, but it is a part of my bill. I think the spokesperson's argument was only an excuse (and a poor one at that) to keep from providing this channel.
If the cost was truly a valid argument to provide a service that only a few people wanted, then cable service should be offered a la carte. However, we all know this will not happen because sports fans aren't important. Quit making excuses. Either offer the NFL Network or get rid of some of the other useless garbage offered as "basic" service.
