Outstanding flowering plants: bauhinia (orchid tree), bougainvillea, camellia, Christmas cactus, poinsettia.

Colorful berries: holly and pyracantha

Annuals: alyssum, calendula, carnation, dianthus, dusty miller, foxglove, geranium, pansy, petunia, snapdragon, statice

Perennials: blue salvia, chrysanthemum, coreopsis, day lily, gaillardia, gazania, Shasta daisy, Stokes aster, yarrow

Vegetables: beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, collards, lettuce, mustard, onions, peas, radish, spinach, turnips

Herbs and spices (from plants): chives, coriander, dill, fennel, garlic, oregano, parsley, sage, thyme

Bulbs: African lily, amaryllis, Aztec lily, calla, clivia, crinum, hurricane lily, narcissus, watsonia, zephyr lily
