Holiday Shows, Concerts Are Coming To Town

TAMPA - It's December, so guess what musical theme saturates the month's helping of concerts?

Maybe we can jingle your memory with a bit of holiday harmony. From "Nutcrackers" to Gregorian chant to the Rockettes, the playlist captures the spirit of the season, and options are aplenty. So today we offer a selective look at live productions around the Bay area, some traditional and others offbeat, but all suitable for the family.

Today at 2 p.m.: The Orlando Ballet presents its annual production of "The Nutcracker"; Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, 1010 N. MacInnes Place, Tampa; $15 to $50; (813) 229-7827.

Friday and Dec. 9: The Florida Orchestra offers "A Jingle Bell Pops," featuring the Holiday Pops Singers. Concerts are 8 p.m. Friday at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, 1010 N. Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m., Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.: The Miami City Ballet offers George Balanchine's classic rendition of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker," featuring a live orchestra and more than 100 people onstage; Ruth Eckerd Hall, 1111 McMullen-Booth Road, Clearwater; $30 to $46; (727) 791-7400.
