I read with great emotion the Nov. 29 letter of the day from John Berninger regarding the death of his brother.
I have always wondered why Princess Diana had, and still does, have such press coverage after she died on Aug 31, 1997. I also wonder why Dr. Viktor Frankl had a simple paragraph in the back of the newspaper when he died on Sept 2, 1997.
Dr. Frankl, his new wife, his mother and father and brother were all sent to a concentration camp in 1942. He lost all his family in the Holocaust and later wrote that the events that occurred there led him to realize the meaningfulness in life. He went on to write a book, "Man's Search For Meaning," on his experiences during that part of his life. Before he died, his book had sold over 9 million copies.
I know Princess Di did many charitable things in her life. However, I find my hero in Dr. Frankl for what he went through, survived and through it taught us all some wonderful lessons for overcoming tragedy in our lives.
Thanks to John for giving me the incentive to write the letter I have wanted to write since Sept 2, 1997.
