MIAMI - For the first time in two years, Florida International left the football field victorious.
Paul McCall threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns in his first start, and the Golden Panthers beat North Texas 38-19 Saturday night to end major college football's longest current losing streak at 23 games.

Lionell Singleton had an 84-yard kickoff return for a score, Julian Reams added a 22-yard rushing TD and Audric Adger tied a school record with four sacks for FIU (1-11, 1-6 Sun Belt), which last won Dec. 3, 2005, against Middle Tennessee State.

"We're not 1-11," McCall said. "We're on a one-game winning streak."
Giovanni Vizza completed 31 of 54 passes for 253 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown pass to Brock Stickler for North Texas. Jamario Thomas and Micah Mosely each had 1-yard TD runs for the Mean Green (2-10, 1-6).

OREGON STATE 38, OREGON 31: Freshman wide receiver James Rodgers ran 25 yards around end for the go-ahead touchdown, and the Oregon State defense stuffed No. 18 Oregon on fourth down to preserve a win in double overtime.

The teams matched field goals in the first extra session before Rodgers broke free on the first play of the second overtime. Oregon (8-4, 5-4 Pac-10) was faced with fourth-and-1 from the 16 when it got a chance to answer, but tailback Jonathan Stewart was stopped for a loss on a run up the middle.

The Beavers (8-4, 6-3) spilled onto the field to celebrate their victory in the 111th Civil War.

FAU 38, TROY 32: Rusty Smith passed for 291 yards and two touchdowns and visiting Florida Atlantic had a late defensive stand to beat Troy, sending the fledgling Owls program to their first bowl game.

Howard Schnellenberger's Owls (7-5, 6-1 Sun Belt Conference) scored 28 points in a 12-minute span of the second half and held on to claim a share of the league title with the Trojans (8-4, 6-1).

BYU 48, SAN DIEGO STATE 27: Freshman Harvey Unga ran for 161 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead No. 21 Brigham Young past San Diego State. Unga scored on runs of 1, 7 and 3 yards, and caught an 8-yard TD pass from Max Hall as the Cougars (10-2, 8-0 Mountain West) completed the regular season with their ninth straight win. San Diego State fell to 4-8, 3-5.

STANFORD 20, CALIFORNIA 13: T.C. Ostrander passed for 151 yards and an early touchdown to Mark Bradford, and Stanford snapped its five-game losing streak against Cal, handing the Golden Bears their sixth loss in seven games.

Nick Sanchez intercepted two passes in the 110th Big Game for the Cardinal (4-8, 3-6 Pac-10), who earned their first home conference victory under rookie coach Jim Harbaugh in the most rewarding way possible for Cardinal fans enduring their sixth straight losing season.

Nate Longshore went 22 of 46 for 252 yards and two second-half interceptions in another awful performance for the Golden Bears (6-6, 3-6).

MAC CHAMPIONSHIP: Central Michigan quarterback Dan LeFevour ran for 170 yards and threw for 185, helping the Chippewas win their second straight Mid-American Conference title game, 35-10 against Miami of Ohio.
