TAMPA -- Jessica Sierra blamed four or five vodkas and an empty stomach.

Before her tirade was over, Tampa police said, Sierra fought police trying to keep her out of an Ybor City club, scrapped with a friend on the street outside, vomited in a patrol car then vomited again, threatened action by the mayor, kicked one officer and propositioned another, and, still combative, ended up in isolation at the jail.

Jessica Sierra

Sierra, the 22-year-old former contestant on "American Idol," was being held without bail following a run-in with three officers early Saturday that is detailed in police reports released today.

The Tampa woman, who listed her occupation as self-employed singer, was a Top 10 contestant on the Fox TV talent show in 2005. Following an earlier bar altercation, Sierra entered a California rehab center, an experience recorded for broadcast in early 2008 on VH1's "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew."

Production wrapped in August, according to a statement Monday from VH1 publicist Lori Bogin.

"As viewers will learn from Dr. Drew Pinsky throughout the course of the series," the statement says, "maintaining sobriety is a day-to-day struggle as with most addicts and rehabilitation is an ongoing process. VH1 continues to support Jessica in her recovery and wishes her the best during this difficult time."

Police arrested Sierra at 2 a.m. Saturday outside the Full Moon Saloon, 1613 E. Seventh Ave. She was charged with disorderly intoxication, resisting arrest without violence and violating probation.

The police reports gave this account.

Officer Christopher Cornelius and Officer John Angelakopoulos were working an off-duty detail at the dance club when they saw club security officers kicking Sierra out. She tried to walk back in through another door, Cornelius wrote, but again was escorted out.

Sierra became combative, and began fighting with a friend who was trying to calm her.

When Cornelius approached, she got up and began to walk away, then whirled around and returned, pushing and shoving pedestrians on the sidewalk, the officer wrote.

Then she started screaming profanity.

"Her violent behavior caused people to stop from walking in that area," Cornelius wrote. Cornelius and Angelakopoulos tried to restrain Sierra, and she pushed and pulled, trying to get away.

She was placed in the back of Angelakopoulos' patrol car, and started vomiting. Officers determined she was intoxicated based on a strong odor of alcohol, glassy eyes and unsteadiness, Cornelius wrote.

Paramedics arrived to check on her and as the car door opened, Officer Desiree Ayo fell into the back seat, her report says. Ayo urged Sierra to remain calm but added that she thinks Sierra kicked her.

Angelakopoulos wrote that Sierra "continued her disorderly tirade, screaming and yelling that her aunt is the mayor and that I would be out of a job."

The niece of Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio's husband once was married to Sierra's father, said Liana Lopez, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office. Lopez said the mayor has not spoken with Sierra in at least two years.

Angelakopoulos said Sierra would be apologetic one moment and combative the next.

She vomited again, and the officer opened the door and rolled down windows to give her some fresh air, he said. She told paramedics she drank four or five shots of vodka on an empty stomach.

"As I began my transport to central booking, Angelakopoulous wrote, "Ms. Sierra began to beg me not to take her to jail and that this would ruin her life. She then told me that she would do anything for me to let her go."

She then propositioned Angelakopoulous, he said, offering oral sex for her release. He refused and she cursed him, he said, using a racial slur.

Upon reaching the jail early Saturday morning, she continued to be disorderly, the officer said, and had to be placed in a holding cell separated from other inmates.

John Fitzgibbons, Sierra's attorney, offered words of support for his client.

"Jessica's most recent problems show once again the wretched curse of drug and alcohol addiction," he said. "It is a horrific disease that has literally destroyed the lives of countless talented and well-known athletes, singers and movie stars as well as countless other people who are not in the public spotlight.

"There are no easy solutions to addiction, and the prognosis is often poor for someone in Jessica's position. But we will continue to do our best to get her additional help."

Sierra was denied bail during a weekend appearance before Circuit Judge Gregory Holder, who just two weeks earlier had sentenced her to 12 months probation, random drug screening and a rehab program for an April 29 altercation at Hyde Park Cafe.

In that incident, Sierra picked up a glass and struck Wisam Hadad above the eye. She claimed he spat on her but later said she may have mistaken Hadad for someone else.

How many years did Frank Figueroa get for exposing himself at that shopping mall in Orlando?

If you are going to get drunk and start pushing people around including the police then they (police) did their job to protect us from a violent person and this IS why we build jails. To keep these people away from us. "Goin to a party in the county jail. The prison wardens band is about to wail."

I can only imagine what this girls life would've been like had she won the title of the "American Idol." It's a shame because she is talented. I guess she can sing to the females behind bars. Except those bars are not in Ybor.

Her friends claim she wasn't drunk and that she's taken huge steps towards staying out of trouble.

All I'm saying is:

1) What’s she doing in Ybor, in a bar at 2am? That sure doesn't seem like the place or time to "stay out of trouble".

2) Check out the booking photo. Not the one on TBO, but the one from the HCSO and enlarge it. That sure doesn't look like she wasn't drinking.

I applaud her friend's efforts to defend her, but that too is a bad move.

This chick is one night and less than a half of a bad decision away from plowing into an innocent person on the road.

This girl thinks she can do whatever she wants. I see her out occasionally and she walks around like people owe her something. She is a nobody and when she doesn't get her way she throws a fit! Every time I have seen her she is a drunken mess. By the end of the night the bouncers are usually pulling her out of the bar because she was trying to fight someone. She needs to stay in jail and learn her lesson!

LS thats the VOP - Violation of Probation for the Coke charge last time. I questioned that a couple of days ago.
now I personally think 11 years is pretty harsh and doesn't fit the Crime but she should def be in a lock up rehab for a couple of years to get her life under control.

IF this was an unknown it would not even make the news but because she is fairly well known it is big news. Those of you defending her would not defend an unknown who committed the same crimes. The possible 11 year sentence is not for what she did it is for violation of probation. This would be in addition to the new charges which if the judge decided could be added onto the time she is sentenced for VOP. I wonder why she wasn't charged with attempted bribery for soliciting the officer. She should have been. She definately deserves some jail or prison time followed by a 6 month rehab and anger management treatment as part of her new probation. But my guess is even if she serves jail time she will eventually violate the new probation and will be back in the slammer again. She needs to be stopped before her violent outbursts seriously injure or kills someone.

Knowing first hand just how much the police will lie to make their case, I doubt seriously she offered any sexual favors.

Personally, I think someone drugged her diet coke because this behavior is so incredibly out of character for her.

In my two observations on two different nights singing karaoke with her and friends the past 2 weeks, she had not been drinking alcohol and was being her normal subdued, quiet self.

What the judge meant was that Jessica faces up to 11 years max based on all the charges. The reality of it is that she will face minimum jail time if any. For example, on the previous cocaine possession, she could have received up to 15 years in prison but was given probation instead. The judge is required to let the defendant know what is the max prison time they face. On a side note, she should get some good jail time for throwing up in the officers car and then offering oral sex. That had to be nasty !!

masterzvoice,

No offense , but I’m not sure that you’re doing Jessica any favors.

You sure seem to know a lot about people drugging other people, men trying to get girls drunk to get in their pants, girls being arrested for the wrong reasons and the police falsifying evidence.

Frankly, I find all that knowledge about as disturbing as I find Jessica and her antics.

Look, everyone in the back of a police car in Ybor City at 2am is always innocent don’t you know?

By the way, sometimes the way you treat people has a way of replaying itself in your own life.

Let me just give you the short version; where there’s smoke there’s fire and she’s en fuego…

Some of you should be given 6 months in jail for being 5 minutes late for work.

LOL ... then you might get it.

First of all, many police officers working at clubs like the Blue Moon are crooked cops. They protect certain drug dealers and allow certain minors to stay in the clubs. They do in fact get 'favors' to do so.

Bouncers at clubs especially Ybor clubs are accustomed to getting BJs from women to let them in the club with no id etc ... they also can become very WWF in their mentality if a gal they want to screw doesn't co-operate.

Jessica is a huge target for that.

So we really do not know what happened except that 4 or 5 shots of vodka does not produce this type of panic behavior exhibited by Sierra ... especially in an alcoholic ... empty stomach or not.

She had 6 or 7 months sobriety going for her. GREAT JOB!

Do you have any idea how many guys/gals had tried to get her to drink or light up a doobie this past 10 days? Not just at the bars either. It's constant.

She should be commended for her effort.

The way she was handled is a disgrace. Why were bartenders serving her at Blue Moon? They knew good and well who she was and the dangers in doing so. Any well respected establishment would have helped keep her together instead of trying to light a bomb.

In fact, the behavior indicates she ingested something far worse than 4 or 5 shots of vodka.

The ONLY person who derailed her was her, she didi it by her own actions. She deserves the scrutiny she is getting, and she deserves to sit in that cell where she is at.

Battery of an innocent man, coke charges, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, violation of probation, offering sex to get out of being arrested, she did these things no one did them for her.

Ohnoooo ... you have no clue. In fact, your malarky about here on here indicates you have more issues than she does and she has plenty.

You are precisely the type who let's their jealousy of someone who get's more attention from guys than you ... allow them to cross the line and spike someone's drink or set them up to bring them down.

You don't know her, have never observed her, and really do not have any idea what she is actually like.

Many of us who have worked with her and sung with her admire the efforts she has made to keep drugs and alcohol the distant past in her life.

I do believe she messed up big time, but there is more to the story. I in fact WATCHED others try to bring her down. I had discussions with women who are jealous of her and 'hate the bi_ch' for no reason at all except her celebrity.

These are the type people who are really dangerous in society and whom I wish were locked up because most of them don't even realize they need help and even fewer would do anything to change.

I've never heard of this woman but her attorney's comment that "we'll do all we can to get her help" explains part of the reason why she obviously has a problem. It isn't up to him or anyone else to get help for her and help that someone else gets for her is going to accomplish nothing. She needs to help herself, no one else can do it for her. AA meetings are all over Tampa, any time of day or night, and they're free.

If she wanted to stop drinking/ drugging, why the hell is she hanging out in Ybor City? That is NOT trying, as you say. I find it funny that you try to defend her behavior by pointing out what everyone else is doing that is wrong or illegal. Also, I don't even think you know her. It sounds like you hang out at the same karaoke bar where she tries to show off her "skills", and you're so desperate to grab onto any kind of notoriety that you can, you have convinced yourself that you might be someone who actually matters to her. And the truth is, if you DID matter to her, you should not be defending her, but trying to get her some friggin help!!! You're a bigger loser than she is, and that's sad.

I do not strive for that! I go out and have a good time with my friends WITHOUT getting into trouble. Secondly, if she is trying to do good, why is she at a bar? Full Moon is not exactly the best place to be on a Saturday night if you are trying to be sober. From what I know Full Moon doesn't have karaoke. People who have been in rehab should not be partying at bars or clubs.

masterzvoice you seem to be quite a defender of Sierra. Do you know her personally or have you just seen the actress putting on a kareoke show? If you do not know her personally then you know squat about her personal life. You also seem to know little about alcoholism. Some alcoholics become violent and nasty after just one or two drinks. Five shots of vodka on an empty stomach could put anyone under. Speaking from an LEO standpoint I have had hundreds of hours of training in alcoholism and over a thousand hours of training in DUI enforcement. So you could say I have had a lot of experience over 21 years dealing with drunks. A mean drunk is a mean drunk. And they usually are just as mean as a dry drunk but putting any amount of alchohol into their system can easily push them over the edge, even one or two drinks with immediate personality changes. As for all of your knowledge of "crooked" cops, where did you get this knowledge? If you have such knowledge why don't you make official citizen's complaints? Perhaps because if they are mailcious in nature you can be charged with pergery? You seem to know a lot about nothing. All of the converstions inside a cruiser are taped. I am sure this solicitation was made on tape. Maybe you are a big Sierra fan and that is great but you should stay with the facts and not make unfounded accusations.

If you have some evidence of wrong doing by the police, then turn your evidence over to the news so it can be published. If not, and you are making this stuff up to protect your drunk and out of control friend, then I would be real careful about what you say. As the old saying goes," put up or shut up ". If all you can do is make false allegations on here, then maybe part of this girls problems might be the friends she has.

masterzvoice, do me a favor and come back here in a few months after her "celebrity rehab" show airs...from what i hear, it's a doozy.

by the way, stop saying that people are jealous of her celebrity...there is no celebrity to be jealous of. she is a reality show CAST OFF. if she was as good as you think she is, wouldn't she have been a winner?

ya know I was annoyed that the Sierra story was even being published this much as she's just a washed up Ex Idol who never made it, but after reading Brianw73 and others rip masterzvoice a new one, I'm kinda glad they printed it. Quality entertainment on the commentboards at TBO.com...

Also I find it amusing that this girl considers karaoke her job. I'm a real performing Musician playing acoustically 5 nights a week singing in bars and restaurants for Money... Its amazing the Press will cover tabloids yet won't take the time to go out and cover stories of real local musicians that aren't the local Ybor Drunks.

I was thinking about that. I guess I'm not a real Musician in the sense that I don't drink at shows. Its a shame, if I wasn't such a dedicated and responsible Musician, I could be out doing shots, becoming famous, and blowing my 15 min of fame up my nose with the rest of my Coke. I just hope if I get arrested there is a black officer I can yell racial slurs at from the back of the Cop Car and solicit oral sex too. Bobo am I on to something? I might have to hire you as a Publicist.

I see Masterzvoice is continuing his cop bashing here because he has no evidence to back up any of his claims. He is just making false statements probably because he has been in the back seat of a police car a time or two. If he had evidence, he could take it to any news outlet or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. If he did go there, he would have to sign a paper stating that if he gave any false information, he would go to jail for perjury and then could be sued for slander by the cops. But, he aint going to do that because it is all talk. Anyone that has lived here awhile knows the media likes to print stuff that is bad for the cops. So go ahead MV and make an official complaint. You have nothing to fear,,,,unless you're lying.

We all know by now that mastervoice is nothing but a blowhard. He knows nothing about the incident at hand but I personally know some of the officers involved and believe you me they didn't need to lie at all to arrest her. Her actions spoke for themselves and I am sure that there were a lot of witnesses around. Most of you are right. If mastervoice has such proof of wrongdoing by Tampa Police why doesn't he make out an official complaint? Afraid of being charged with pergury? Afraid of being sued? Why didn't you address the questions I posed on my post but chose to ignore them. Where is your specialized training on human behavior and alcoholism? Are you a personal friend of Sierra or just an overzealous fan who has seen her perform? Certainly she would be on her best behavior whilst she performed but she certainly is not on her best behavior whilst not. Could you please answer my questions instead of ignoring them?

Jessica needs some real friends who will NOT take her to places like drinking establishments and will take her home at a decent time. Whose boneheaded idea was it to go to Ybor? What could possibly go wrong? Just about everything. I know that SHE has to want to get herself straight, but friends can help some.

Isn't this the same girl who had a roomful of family and friends watching her on American Idol with Fox 13 cameras covering it? If so, I hope she has the support of those people now. She needs it more than ever.

Yep, blame the drinking and do not accept responsibility under any circumstances, Ms. Women Liberation. Puh-lease. Take some responsibility for yourself once in your life. Quit blaming your friends, the police, your acquantences, the media, the Fuller Brush Man, Mr. Clean, Mrs. Butterworth, Lucy Ricardo, man up and shut up, please. It seems every time many women find themselves in hot water, there is always an excuse from drinking to bi-polar disorder. No, respect will not be forthcoming. It is quite funny you alleged offered sex to the police in exchange for going to jail. Was that supposed to be a good deal?

Just a few closing observations and comments;

1) Dear Jessica's friends, if you’re going to go out and get arrested after a hard night of clubbing it; then DO NOT wear mascara as it makes for bad booking photos.

2) Dear Jessica’s friends, if you're clubbing it with her; then DO NOT let her stay out after 2am. You see her first arrest was at 2:15a and her second was at 2:10a.

3) Dear local law enforcement; kudos to you and the arrest processing system. It appears that this time it only took you 2hrs & 7 minutes to arrest and process. The first time it took you 2hrs & 25 minutes.

I do believe the system is working...and more efficiently to boot.

Good night.

Addiction is a disease that none can understand, except mental health experts and those in recovery. (We never say recovered, because we can never recover from the disease. We learn to manage it by staying sober, through the NA, AA program of 12 Steps and 12 Traditions.) Those who understand the disease, realize that addicts CAN'T STOP using. There's no such thing as ONE drink, ONE social TOKE. We simply have NO ability to STOP, as long as we're USING. WHEN we USE, we become INSANE; because that is how drugs and alcohol affect us. While INSANE, we do things and act in ways, that SANE and SOBER people would NEVER behave. I have friends who are not addicts, as I am, who just can't understand why everyone can't STOP. That's because THEY don't have the addiction disease. Think of it as you would a food allergy. If for example you were alergic to peanuts and you decided: "I can eat just one, it won't hurt me." So you eat it and your body reacts violently to that allergy. That's what happens with an alcoholic. I really haven't had experience with drugs, such a Sierra has, so I'm not up on that. But she's a double dependent, abusing alcohol and drugs. So, she basically became INSANE. We are taught in the program that we MUST be accountable for our behavior EVEN when we were drunk, EVEN if we blacked out and didn't remember ANYTHING we did. That was my case, before I stopped. I had a blackout and did things that others told me I did. I couldn't believe what they told me I did. They were things SO UNLIKE my upbringing and basic character. But such is the effects of the addiction. Several of my friends had proof of what I did. When it was presented to me, (as hers is being presented to her now), I felt ashamed of myself - to the point that I KNEW I had a problem. In the meeting I attended tonight, I heard a story from a woman who took FIVE years IN AA before she was finally willing to admit Step 1: that she was powerless over alcohol and that her life had become unmanageable. When Ms. Sierra has an opportunity to FINALLY admit that, she will BEGIN to recover. And she'll have to do as all of us have to do: make a list of things we've done to harm ourselves and others and then, whenever possible, go to those people and admit the wrong done, apologize, make restitution and ask for forgiveness. I've been doing that; and the one I offended the most wouldn't forgive me. Many that Ms. Sierra has offended and wronged may not forgive her either. This blog has been very heartless and judgmental about her. My hope is that at her young age, she can get on the right path and get and stay sober. For the rest of you, my hope is that you NEVER get in a position such as her and have to suffer the ridicule that many of you have dished out to her.

jagaka2...it's rare, if ever, that someone who is on felony probation and violates that probation, as she did, gets a bond set. That's the norm whether "cameras are rolling" or not. And how many mistakes are acceptable to you? She needs to grow up, show some responsibility and accountability. Wow, wouldn't that be refreshing?

As far as Ms Sierra, she deserves no special treatment, but as always in the beautiful sunshine state whats good for one is not always good for the next..fl needs to reevaluate the judicial system and be consistant with the punishment of crimes. This case like the Lafave case will probably end up with a slap on the wrist, while the next one that comes along will spend 10 years in prison...go figure. As far as the cop being propositioned i doubt it because they would have charged her with that as well, who knows maybe he took her up on it and thats why she puked all over his car.......

The police deserve a lot of credit for being so patient with this girl. She was given ample opportunities to leave and had a friend that was going to help her. During my day as an officer, she would not have received that many chances with me. I hope this is the bottom for her that some people must hit before they turn their lives around. If not, she may be working at one of Redner's clubs in the future.
