Christmas shoppers are usually happy, and that can lead to blissful carelessness. Don't let down your guard.
•Shop during daylight hours when possible.
•Leave expensive jewelry and clothes at home. If you carry a purse, keep it close to your body, not dangling by the straps. Put a wallet in a front pants pocket.
•Never leave your purse in a shopping cart or on a counter while paying for purchases.
•Carry only as much money as you expect to use. When possible, use credit or debit cards and checks, instead of cash.
