Colt Brennan
QB Hawaii, Sr.
Team record: 12-0.
Optimistic view: Senior leader of nation's only unbeaten team. Set NCAA career record for touchdown passes (131).

Chase Daniel

Optimistic view: Had great night (40 of 49, 361 yards) against Kansas. Completed at least 59 percent of his passes in first 12 games.
Pessimistic view: Received virtually no preseason hype. Had his least-productive game Saturday in the prime-time Big 12 Championship Game loss to Oklahoma.
Darren McFadden
RB Arkansas, Jr.
Team record: 8-4.
Optimistic view: Finished second in last season's Heisman voting. Tied SEC record with 321 yards vs. S. Carolina. Had game of his life vs. No. 1-ranked LSU (201 yards rushing)
Pessimistic view: Played on a four-loss team. Dropped off the Heisman radar with a 17-carry, 43-yard game against Auburn.
Tim Tebow
QB, Florida, So.
Team record: 9-3.
Optimistic view: First player ever with 20 rushing touchdowns and 20 passing touchdowns. Appeared on national magazine covers before starting his first game at UF.
Pessimistic view: May be overexposed, causing a voting backlash. Team finished third in SEC East. Sophomore has never won the Heisman.
Pat White

Team record: 10-2.
Optimistic view: Averaged 161 yards rushing per game in four wins that lifted Mountaineers to Big East Conference title.
