BROOKSVILLE - Gulf Coast WAVES Unit No. 27 meets at 10:30 a.m. the second Saturday of the month, except in July and August, at the Atria, 7030 Evergreen Woods Trail on Route 50, next to Hospice. The next general Meeting will be held on Dec. 8.
Unit 27, a branch of WAVES National is seeking new members. Membership is open to all former, retired and present-day women of the sea services; including the US Navy, WAVES 1943-1972, SPARS Coast Guard and Marine women who served with the Navy during wartime, Navy nurses and all women who served in Military Sea Services.
Members of WAVES Unit 27 are an active group involved in many community and national activities. Local WAVES units throughout the United States share mutual concerns, such as volunteering at hospitals, schools veterans in nursing homes, scholarships and much, much more.

Dilts, Joes, Villegas Accepted To Thiel College
The following Hernando County residents have been accepted and are attending Thiel College.
Matthew R. Dilts, son of Mr. Dalton Benson and Mrs. Lynda Dilts-Benson of Spring Hill, is a 2007 graduate of Springstead High School. He is currently undecided in his major.
Jason J. Joes, a 2007 graduate of Nature Coast Technical High School, plans to major in history at Thiel, He is the son of Ms. Joan Joens and Mr. Jason Joens both of Spring Hill.
Bryan Villegas is the son of Arlene Villegas of Brooksville.
