Woman, 86, Dies When Her Car Collides With SUV

ELFERS - An 86-year-old New Port Richey woman died Tuesday after a two-vehicle collision on State Road 54.
Mary Bartow was driving a 1996 Chrysler sedan when she pulled from a parking lot into the path of a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Christina Phettepalace, 23, of Port Richey, Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Larry Coggins said.
Coggins said the SUV struck the sedan on the driver's side, killing Bartow. The wreck happened at 11:05 a.m. near Madison Street.
Traffic on S.R. 54 was rerouted for about 90 minutes while the scene was cleared, Coggins said.
