(On Jeff Garcia's progression)
''He's getting better. He took a lot more snaps today and we'll see how he feels tomorrow. That's about all I can say.''
(On Houston's defense)
''They have some really good playmakers. Mario Williams and Amobi Okoye, and this middle linebacker is phenomenal. He's fun to watch. [DeMeco] Ryans is a great middle linebacker, and as always Richard Smith creates problems with his schemes. You don't know which one to expect, and they play hard. They have some creative goal-line defenses and some nickel pressures that you've got to really work on to have a chance.''
(On team chemistry)
''It's a credit to the players and the assistant coaches, the trainers and the equipment people. We brought in a lot of new players and I think they've helped bring that along. And winning certainly helps.''
(On how Cadillac Williams is doing)
''He's back. He's back and he obviously misses football tremendously. It's great to have him back. He's a super guy. He's got a long way to go in his rehab but he checks in early and he checks out late. It's a grueling process but it's underway and we're optimistic about Kurtis Shultz, Mike Morris, Todd Toriscelli and Joe Diaco helping him back. He's got a long road ahead of him but he's in great spirits and he's off to a good start.''
(On S Sabby Piscitelli also being around)
''Sabby's my assistant. He previews the next game. He writes reports, and he's working on the Atlanta Falcons right now, I'm sure, up in my office. He's staying on top of things and he's going to be a dynamic player for us. He's very fast, he's learning our defense in the time being and we're looking forward to having him here someday.''
