(On if Jeff Garcia will play Sunday)
''There's a chance of that but we're going to, again, wait until we get to Houston, see how the weather is, see how he feels. It's a day-to-day operation right now, but he is getting better and I can only make the decision on Sunday when we get to the stadium.''
(On if he prefers the Reliant Stadium roof to be opened or closed)
''Well, if it's raining and it's sleeting I'd rather it be closed. I prefer playing outdoors, personally, whenever I can. I guess that's the best way to answer it. This is a really unbelievable place we're going to play. It's a state-of-the-art facility. You've got to see it to believe it, really. We're looking forward to going and playing there regardless if it's indoors or outdoors.''
(On Sage Rosenfels)
''Well, we've seen him a lot in the preseason. He's played in the National Football League in Miami. He's a veteran guy and he knows Gary Kubiak's system. He's had success, and a lot of it, against us. We've got a lot of respect for him, and Kevin Carter can document that as well.''
(On team chemistry)
''It's a credit to not only our players but to our coaches. We've had some ups and downs this season, not only winning and losing but we've lost some guys. It's hard. It's hard to swallow sometimes when you see Carnell Williams and [Luke] Petitgout and [Greg] Spires, among other guys, not able to go. But these guys all like football. They all work hard. They're all genuinely, I think, interested in the success of the team. That's what makes this a lot of fun, and these guys have represented that every day.''
(On the ''Gruden'' chant after the last game)
''That was awful nice of those guys, whoever started the chant. It was probably my son (laughing). We've got a lot of interest in the same thing. These guys mean a lot to me, and I think they know that, but I also expect a lot out of them. It's the players that are getting it done and it will be the players that get it done if we're going to continue to win.''
(On what catches his eye about Houston)
''They're a good team. I saw them convincingly go to Carolina and win early when the Panthers were at full strength. They played extremely well against the Saints two weeks ago. They played good competition, they play good football. They're diverse on offense, they have a creative attack, they have one of the great receivers in Andre Johnson and, defensively, the front four's for real. And the middle linebacker's as good as I've seen all season, so that's going to be a hard game for us.''
(On if Michael Pittman practiced Friday)
''No he did not. His status is unknown also. All I can do really is react to the information I get from the player and the trainer and then do the best I can to field the 45 guys who give us a chance to win.''
(On B.J. Askew)
''We tried to immobilize the injury, and we'll see what happens here in the next day or so. No one deserves more credit than him. He's played through some tough times and he'll continue to do that if he can.''
