Holiday Events Keep Rolling Along

Today

• 5 to 11 p.m. - Carnival and midway, Sims Park just north of Main Street.

• 6 to 8 p.m. - The Clauses pose for pictures with little ones at Halina's Custom Interiors & Lighting Gallery, 5346 Main St.

Photos are free for the first 100 children.

Cartoons will be shown outdoors to entertain youngsters while they await their turn to sit on Santa's knee.

• 6 to 9 p.m. - First Friday artists reception at Progress Energy Art Gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., plus holiday sale specials.

• 6 to 9 p.m. - Holiday Shop 'n' Stroll, featuring wandering musicians; horse and carriage rides and tractor-pulled hayrides from the historic district, around Orange Lake, past Sims Park and into the Palm District across the river; merchants' specials and shopping until 9 p.m.; Friday Fling sidewalk art displays around downtown.

• 9 p.m. - Seasonal film shown in Sims Park.

Saturday

•10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Arts and Crafts Village in Sims Park; tours of the Pithlachascotee River aboard the Miss Daisy; Makai Kayak & Canoe rentals; pony rides; children's activities; food; commercial vendors.

• 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. - Carnival and midway.

• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. - Live music on the park's amphitheater stage.

• 1 to 2 p.m. - "The True Christmas Story," a musical presented by Pastors for Pasco.

• 3 p.m. - Genesis School play, "An All-American Holiday Spectacular," with a visit by Santa at the end.

• 4 to 7 p.m. - Live music in the park, including the Gypsy Star Band and holiday tunes by Ed and Geraldine.

• 4:30 to 6 p.m. - Photos with Santa at the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce, 5443 Main St.

• 7 p.m. - 31st Annual Downtown New Port Richey Holiday Street Parade organized by the Rotary Club of Holiday; route goes north on Grand Boulevard from Gulf Drive.

• Immediately after the parade - Free concert in Sims Park by the Dixie Highway Band with John Wayne Wilkinson.

Sunday

• 9 to 11 a.m. - Breakfast with the Clauses in Sims Park. The first 100 children get a gift.

• 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Arts and Crafts Village, river boat tours, kayak and canoe rentals, pony rides, children's fun, food and other vendors.

• Noon to 9 p.m. - Carnival and midway.

• 1 to 5 p.m. - Live entertainment on the park's main stage.

• Admission to Main Street Holidays is free; suggested $2 donations will be accepted at the chamber's welcome center on Main Street on the west side of the bridge.
