TAMPA - The 34-year-old man shot during a house party in Land O' Lakes on Saturday night has died, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
James Scott Baisden was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa after the shooting at 2614 Shade Crest Drive. He was in stable condition Sunday but died at the hospital Wednesday night. It wasn't clear why he took a turn for the worse.
Baisden's roommate, Sean Christopher Stewart, also 34, was arrested nearly five hours after the 11:45 p.m. shooting.
He was being held at the Land O' Lakes Jail on Thursday on charges of aggravated assault and attempted murder. Bail was set at $110,000.
The attempted murder charge could be upgraded now that the victim has died, depending on the detective's and prosecutors' investigation, Pasco County Sheriff's Office spokesman Doug Tobin said.
Stewart is accused of shooting Baisden once in the chest and pointing the gun at another man.
