Bush Might Miss Rest Of Season

Published: December 8, 2007

NEW ORLEANS - Reggie Bush has a partially torn left knee ligament that likely won't require surgery but could sideline him for Monday night's game at Atlanta and possibly for the rest of the season.

A person familiar with the injury told The Associated Press that Bush did not expect to play Monday night and likely would not risk further aggravating the injury by playing again this season. The person requested anonymity because of the delicacy of the situation.

Saints coach Sean Payton said Bush would be listed as questionable and said whether Bush plays Monday will be a game-time decision.

"We'll monitor where he's at," Payton said, adding that it was "a little premature" to predict Bush would miss the rest of the season.

BILLS: Rookie running back Marshawn Lynch (ankle) practiced Friday and is expected to play Sunday when Buffalo hosts the winless Dolphins.

BRONCOS: Coach Mike Shanahan was fined $25,000 by the NFL for comments supporting running back Travis Henry's appeal of a one-year drug suspension.

In other news, receivers Brandon Stokley and Javon Walker practiced and are expected to play Sunday.

JAGUARS: Defensive tackle Marcus Stroud was activated, and ex-Bucs linebacker Marquis Cooper was released.

RAMS: Quarterback Marc Bulger (concussion) had a setback and third-stringer Brock Berlin, who has never attempted a pass in a regular-season game, might start Sunday at Cincinnati.

RAVENS: Bart Scott and three other Baltimore players were fined for arguing with officials and complaining about calls in Monday's game against the Patriots.

Scott, who argued with officials and tossed a penalty flag into the stands, was fined $25,000. Cornerbacks Chris McAlister and Samari Rolle and wide receiver Derrick Mason each were fined $15,000 for critical remarks.

REDSKINS: An MRI on quarterback Jason Campbell's dislocated kneecap revealed that the injury probably would not require surgery, Coach Joe Gibbs said. He said it was "too early to decide" if Campbell would play again in the regular season. Campbell was hurt Thursday.

STEELERS: Safety Troy Polamalu is likely to miss Pittsburgh's game Sunday at New England after sitting out practice for the second day in a row because of a sprained knee.

Wide receiver Santonio Holmes plans to play despite a sprained right ankle.

TEXANS: Ahman Green was placed on injured reserve. Green missed Houston's last three games with a left knee injury. He rushed for 260 yards on 70 carries after signing a four-year, $23 million contract in March.

TITANS: Safety Chris Hope is out for the season with a spinal cord injury that will require rest and possibly surgery, but it is not expected to be career-ending.

VIKINGS: Defensive end Erasmus James was placed on injured reserve and will need surgery again to repair the ACL in his left knee.
