FIRST TEAM

Maureen Colligan, Holy Names, Sr., Outside hitter
Colligan, who has committed to Colgate University, faced some of the top teams in Florida, which included Class 6A state champion Gainesville Buchholz, 1A champ Bayshore Christian, and state final-four teams Berkeley Prep (3A), Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (5A) and Durant (6A) and still ended the season with 314 kills, 161 digs and 38 blocks.

Danielle Erb, Plant, Jr., Outside hitter
One of the more complete outside hitters in the area, Erb helped Plant win its second consecutive Class 5A state title and finished the season with 300 kills, 193 digs and 70 aces. In the state tournament, she had 26 kills, two blocks and 19 digs.

Maddie Martin, Plant, So., Outside hitter
An emerging star, Martin led the state champion Panthers in kills with 308 along with 196 digs and 86 aces and displayed amazing hitting power and leaping ability at the net. In the five-game victory against Venice to advance to the state tournament, Martin led Plant with 18 kills, three blocks and 15 digs.

Jannica Mollett, Bayshore Christian, Sr., Outside hitter
Voted The Florida Dairy Farmers Class 1A Player of the Year, Mollett led Hillsborough County in kills with 413 and added 341 digs and 39 blocks to lead Bayshore Christian to a 1A state championship. Mollett was also selected to play in the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Volleyball All-Star Classic.

Lindsay Young, Berkeley Prep, So., Middle hitter
Once she elevates at the net, not many can stop Young, who at 6-feet, is a very athletic and mobile middle hitter. Young helped lead Berkeley Prep to the Class 3A state semifinals and ended the season with 294 kills, 208 digs and 83 blocks. Heading into the state tournament, she was named the MaxPreps/American Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Week for the state of Florida.

Alexa Donini, Durant, Sr., Setter
Donini quarterbacked the Cougars offense to the Class 6A state championship match, where Durant ended the season as state runner-up. She helped four teammates record more than 150 kills each and ended her season with 638 assists, 152 digs and 69 aces.

Kellie Catanach, Plant, Sr., Setter
Catanach was named the 2007 Florida Dairy Farmers Miss Volleyball award winner, given to the top player in Florida. Also the Class 5A Player of the Year, Catanach led Plant to a second consecutive 5A state title. The lone senior for Plant, Catanach, who will play for Duke in the fall, led the Panthers with 714 assists, 130 kills, 215 digs and 62 aces en route to the No.1 ranking in the state poll and a top 25 national ranking.

Christina Theofilos, Berkeley Prep, Jr., Libero
Captain of the Buccaneers, Theofilos led the county in digs with 593 and posted more than 30 digs in three matches this season, including 31 digs in the team's Class 3A state semifinal lost to Orlando Lake Highland Prep.

Dawn Hough, Durant, Coach of the Year
In just her second season as coach of the program, Hough, a former Durant and Florida State player, turned a group that couldn't advance past the first round of the playoffs into a state championship caliber team. Durant ended the season as the Class 6A state runner-up with a record of 21-7.

Dana Malinowski, Jr., Tampa Prep, Middle hitter. Ashlea Ballengee, Sr., Bayshore Christian, Setter. Becca Howard, So., Berkeley Prep, Setter. Elissa Hausmann, Sr., Gaither, Libero.
