TAMPA - Jessica Sierra's Ybor City antics have cost her a patriotic gig this week.

Sierra's Web site shows that she planned to sing at the "A Song for Their Service" concert for U.S. troops set for Friday in Washington.

That's not going to happen, said retired Air Force Lt. Col. Buzz Patterson of MoveAmericaForward.org, the group sponsoring the concert.

"To set the record straight, Ms. Sierra will not be participating in this concert," Patterson wrote in a news release. "While we appreciate Ms. Sierra's past efforts to support U.S. troops, including performing for them in Iraq on Independence Day, it is quite obvious that Ms. Sierra needs to devote a great deal of time to putting her life back together. That effort must take place in private and not in the limelight of the public eye or on stage."

Sierra, a 2005 "American Idol" finalist, grew up in Tampa. She faces a violation of probation charge after her arrest for disorderly intoxication in Ybor City on Dec. 1.

After a felony battery arrest in April at a Hyde Park nightclub, Sierra was placed on probation. Her attorney has said she completed a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program in California that was filmed and is to be aired on VH1 in January as a reality show, "Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew."

After her April previous arrest, Sierra pleaded no contest to felony battery. Police said she used a bar glass to hit a man. Sierra at first said the man had spit on her, then later said she might have mistaken him for someone else.
