It's Not A Golf Tournament
Carlos Ranon and fellow members of the Tampa East Sertoma Club spent more than 200 hours during 10 weeks putting together a 17-foot handmade wooden kayak as part of a fundraiser for local charities. The service group hopes to raise $5,000 by selling tickets to win the kayak.

Growing Into A Tree Salesman
What started as a quick stop for a Christmas tree in the early 1990s has turned into a family business for Ed Gallio. He had stopped at the South Manhattan Avenue lot to buy a tree and offered to help the busy salesperson. He ended up working there and eventually taking over the business.
