Seeking possible witnesses and other leads in the fatal shootings of two Lake Alfred gas station employees, the Polk County Sheriff's Office today released security-camera pictures of four vehicles that were at the station shortly before the slayings.
Two employees at the BP gas station at Interstate 4 and State Road 557 died Friday just before 9 p.m. after a gunman who couldn't gain access to the store shot them outside in cold blood, the sheriff's office said. The men, both recent Indian immigrants, were identified as Pravinkumar Chimanbha Patel, 27, and Dashrath Patel, age unknown, officials said.
The vehicles pictured are a Honda sport utility vehicle, a white Mitsubishi sedan, a blue Chevrolet pickup and a red sedan of undetermined make or model. Investigators said these vehicles might have been seen near the gas station between 8:30 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Friday.
A $12,000 reward for information is being offered through Crime Stoppers for information leading to the gunman's arrest.
Investigators asked anyone with information about the vehicles to call the sheriff's office at (863) 533-0344.
