Palm Harbor Man Had Sex With Child, Deputies Say

A 20-year-old Palm Harbor man engaged in sexual activities with a 13-year-old girl in an apartment complex restroom Sunday, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
Aubrey G. Griffin of 31177 U.S. 19 N., Apartment 606, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. today and charged with lewd and lascivious battery.
The 13-year-old is an acquaintance of Griffin's, officials said.
Deputies said Griffin engaged in sexual activity with the girl between 4 and 6 a.m. Sunday in a restroom in the gym-pool area where Griffin lives at Stonegate apartments.
The girl told a friend, that friend told her own parents, they notified the girl's parents and the girl's parents called the sheriff's office, authorities said.
Griffin made incriminating statements to deputies, they said.
He was being held at Pinellas County Jail. Bail was set at $20,000.
