A Manatee County hazardous material crew, along with personnel from the Department of Environmental Protection and the Southwest Florida Water Management District, is on the scene of an early morning fuel spill.
A truck hauling dirt lost control about 4:30 a.m. and partially ran into Lake Manatee near state roads 64 and 675, said Capt. Larry Leinhauser of the Manatee County Department of Public Safety.
There were no injuries, but the truck spilled about 150 gallons of fuel. The spill does not threaten the county's water supply, Leinhauser says in a written statement.
There was no word on whether the truck driver will face any charges.
