SARASOTA - The Sarasota Family YMCA's top foster care administrator officially resigned from the agency today.
Lee Johnson, executive vice president over the social services division, had announced his pending resignation from the nonprofit agency in September.
Johnson, 60, is a native of Monroe, Wis. and has spent his entire career working in social services, including 12 years with the Department of Children and Families.
The YMCA administers foster care in a five-county area, with $72 million in state contracts.
Another foster care administrator, Christy Kane, has announced she will resign from the YMCA in mid-2008.
Both Johnson and Kane have said their resignations are unrelated to a state panel's criticism of how the YMCA has managed foster care; the YMCA recently agreed to give up its $49 million state contracts to run foster care in Pinellas and Pasco counties.
