Amid all the holiday frenzy, this combo of rich melting chocolate and peanut butter will take you back to your happy place.
And for divas with better things to do, less is more. With just six ingredients and no messy flour, this sugar-fest takes less than 30 minutes out of your overscheduled holidays.
Be a purist and hunt down a good jar of all-natural peanut butter. Check the label for nothing but peanuts - no hydrogenated oil or other additives. Go chunky if you prefer.
We already know dark chocolate makes us feel good all over, increasing endorphins and altering our funky moods. So pour a glass of skim milk and indulge while the cookies are warm.
EASY-PEEZY PEANUT BUTTER 'N CHOCOLATE COOKIES
2 cups peanut butter
2 cups brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 8-ounce bars dark chocolate, broken into pieces
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large bowl, mix the first five ingredients until smooth. Stir in chocolate pieces.
Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased baking sheets, about 2 inches apart. Bake until puffy, lightly golden and still soft, about 10 minutes. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.
