TAMPA - Jefferson Bank of Florida has opened its first location, at 3711 Tampa Road in Oldsmar. The full-service bank will provide commercial, real estate, home equity and consumer loans.
Jefferson Bank's charter application was approved in August. The bank was formed by a group of business leaders, bank executives and community leaders with ties to the Tampa Bay area.
Bank officials hope to open several branches in Pasco, north Pinellas and Hillsborough counties, said Robert B. McGivney, chairman and chief executive officer. McGivney didn't have a timetable for when those branches would open.
The founding directors include McGivney; Gary L. Blackwell, real estate developer and investor; Wayne R. Coulter, a lawyer with offices in Pasco and Hernando counties; Melvin S. Cutler, investor and founder of Cutler Associates; Stephen H. Jacobs, president of Morton Plant Mease Primary Care; Joseph L. Oliveri, Oliveri & Associates, Architects; and Paul J. Wikle, Coldwell Banker/Wikle Properties.
James P. Nelson is the bank's president and chief operating officer. Margaret M. Orr is executive vice president and chief financial officer.
