CLEARWATER - Police arrested a 26-year-old man accused of stabbing a man in the neck with a screwdriver in Glen Oaks Park on Tuesday.

Rico Nash of 11312 N. 15th St., Tampa, was arrested on North Fort Harrison Avenue and charged with attempted murder Tuesday afternoon. Police say Nash stabbed Richard James, 57, of Largo, who was found with the screwdriver lodged in his neck.
James was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
Detectives said James was walking in the park, which he does several times a week. Nash approached and pushed James for unknown reasons. James defended himself and a struggled ensued. Police said Nash stabbed James and fled on a bike.
Nash is being held without bail at Pinellas County Jail.
