Regarding "Bright House Changes Channels" (Metro, Dec. 11):
Shame on city, county and state government - as well as all relevant regulatory agencies - for allowing Bright House Networks to further remove us from the government we already pay for with our taxes and fees. We should have free access to watch them in action - or inaction, as the case may be - without having to install any additional equipment or pay any added fees.
We already suffer at the local, state and federal level from a "dumbed down" electorate who are fed empty promises and 30-second sound bites of no real substance. The only winner I can see from this move of government, education and public access channels to a higher cable-channel tier is Bright House Networks, although, I can envision an ancillary benefit for the city and county officials who will no longer have as many pesky voters looking over their proverbial shoulder.
