TEMPLE TERRACE - TEMPLE TERRACE - TEMPLE TERRACE Police have closed Harney Road until tomorrow morning because of a broken sewer main.
Commuters are advised to take alternate routes such as U.S. 301 to Sligh Avenue or Temple Terrace Highway to 56th Street to bypass Harney Road, said Temple Terrace police spokesman Michael Dunn.
According to city officials, a 16-inch sewer main burst this morning south of Renald Boulevard. Crews from the city's public works department and an independent engineering company began repairs today, officials said.
Corroded pipes caused the sewer main to break, Dunn said. Service to homes and businesses were not disrupted, he said.
According to city officials, the spill is contained.
