Game type: Mini-games
Kind of like: "Rayman: Raving Rabbids" or "WarioWare"
Best features: Multiplayer experience, toilet humor
Worst features: Single-player action, overly simplistic gameplay
The bottom line: "Raving Rabbids 2" is a game that should be played with a group. Bringing the toilet humor in droves, the game thrives on its ability to be accessible to everyone from the young to the young at heart. As a sequel to the "Rayman" franchise's "Raving Rabbids," "Rabbids 2" offers a collection of mini-games that simulate an eclectic lineup of tasks. There's some plot involving an alien invasion - somehow, there are monkeys throwing feces in the mix - but the story really takes a back seat to the gameplay experience.
And that's where the strength of "Rabbids 2" lies. The actions are believable and well-simulated, from the burping contest - players shake the Wii-mote like a bottle of soda, chug, and then level Paris with a Category 5 belch - to a race to unclog a toilet with the Wii-mote plunger. We won't go into the Mexican fart race - you'll have to see it to believe it. It's the type of toilet humor that only gets funnier when you're laughing with your buddies or your kids.
But toilet humor can only carry a game so far. At some point, the simplistic motions of waving the Wii-mote up and down or pointing left and right gets old. And, like most crude humor, the joke stops being funny after a while.
