TAMPA - A Tampa man is being held without bail in Lake County after investigators there said he traveled to Clermont for sex with a 7-year-old girl and her mother.

Neither the child nor her 32-year-old mother exists. The mother was an online persona adopted by a Lake County Sheriff's Office detective communicating via the Internet with the man, Kenneth Gene Miller, 51.

Detectives arrested Miller on Thursday after he arrived in Clermont at a prearranged meeting place. Miller had with him several pornographic DVDs and pornographic pictures, Lake County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. John Harrell said.

"He was to bring pornographic movies to show to the daughter so she would know what to do and be able to join in," Harrell said.

Miller is charged with attempted capital sexual battery on a person younger than 12, felony traveling to meet with a minor for purposes of illegal activity and 22 counts of possession of child pornography.

He has no prior criminal record in Florida, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

A phone call to his home at 8337 Canterbury Lake Blvd. was not returned.

An arrest affidavit states that Miller works for Advanced Engineering Systems Corp. of Tampa and used his work laptop to communicate with the undercover detective in a chat room.

A message was left with the company's answering service Friday.

Harrell declined to identify the chat room, citing current open investigations.

Miller used the screen name "KGMILLER56" on Yahoo and made contact with the undercover detective in a chat room during the first week of November, the affidavits state.

"It wasn't long before he let his desires be known," Harrell said.

According to the affidavits, Miller talked online about having sex with the fictional 7-year-old, showing her a pornographic movie and touching the fictional mother "to show the child what can be done."

When he arrived at the meeting place in Clermont, Miller had with him a laptop computer and a removable USB drive containing images of children as young as 2 involved in sex acts or sexual poses, the affidavits state.
