Arrest Made In 7 Break-Ins At Valrico-Area Businesses

TAMPA - Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies this morning arrested a 42-year-old man and charged him with burglarizing seven businesses in eastern Hillsborough over the course of a month.

In most instances, the man broke into unoccupied businesses such as convenience stores and restaurants and stole items including cigarettes and beer, authorities said.

Once, authorities said, he drove a Toyota Prius through the front door of a food mart but ran away before he could be captured.

Issa O. Abdallah is charged with seven counts of burglary of an unoccupied structure, four counts of possession of burglary tools, three counts of petty theft, eight counts of criminal mischief, two counts of grand theft, two counts of forgery and one count each of giving a false name to law enforcement, burglary of a vehicle and obstructing or opposing an officer.

The burglaries happened during early-morning hours from Nov. 14 through Saturday, according to a release from the sheriff's office.

Deputies investigating the burglaries discovered Abdallah had been arrested for DUI on Nov. 14 and was booked into the Orient Road Jail under the false name of Asa Osman with a false date of birth and a false Social Security Number, according to a report.

Among the businesses burglarized were the MK food Mart, 2819 State Road 60 E., Valrico, which was hit twice; a Citgo at 3802 Durant Road, Valrico; Metro PCS, 1991 E.. Brandon Blvd, Valrico; DeDa Chinese Cuisine, 1903-F E. Brandon Blvd., Valrico; Valrico Laundromat, 1995 E. Brandon Blvd.; Indian Grocery, 1749 E. Brandon Blvd., Valrico; and the Seffner Food Mart, 340 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Seffner.

It was at the Seffner Food Mart that he drove a 2007 Toyota Prius into the front doors of the business, the report states. A deputy confronted him, and he fled, the report states.
