Bartow High School Teacher Charged With Soliciting Oral Sex From 16-Year-Old Student

BARTOW - A Bartow High School math teacher was arrested on Wednesday for offering a 16-year-old old student an "A" if he received oral sex, police said.

Isaac Nathan Tillis, 29, of 4031 Palmetto Ave., Highland City, was charged with solicitation for unlawful sexual activity with a minor.

Tillis was caught on recorder on Wednesday telling the student to perform oral sex after he dropped his pants in the employee lounge in the school cafeteria, a probable cause report said.

The incident started on Tuesday when the student went to Tillis and asked what she could do to improve her grade, the report said.

The teacher told the student he could assign extra work so she could raise her grade, but she would have "to do something for him."

She asked the teacher what he meant by that and he whispered something and made a "motion with his hand toward his mouth," the report states.

The student asked for a hall pass to use the restroom. On the note, Tillis wrote that she could get an "A" in exchange for oral sex, the report said. The student told him she did "not do those kinds of things" and left.

On Wednesday, after police equipped the student with a wire, she met the teacher. The conversation was recorded, police said. They met in his classroom and walked to the bathroom inside the teacher's lounge. The teacher lowered his pants. The student said a code word for police to go into the lounge.
