Oh, Goody, We Can Make Burger Sauce

Published: December 19, 2007

Two weeks ago, reader Jack Parrino wrote in search of the tomato-based sauce that was used on hamburgers at Goody Goody restaurant. That note, printed in last week's column, elicited a ton of e-mail from readers who confessed how much they loved the Florida Avenue burger joint that closed its doors two years ago this month after 80 years in business.

Dan Bowdish saw the column and e-mailed what he says is the sauce recipe.

"I got this from a friend who got it from the owner," Bowdish wrote. "A group of us on our high school class reunion committee gathered for the tasty burgers and butterscotch pie one last time just before it was torn down."
Reader Requests Marmalade

A female caller who did not identify herself asked last week for a marmalade recipe that uses sour oranges. Can anyone help her out?
