TAMPA - Instead of letting police pull him over, Kevin M. Griffin drove his motorcycle recklessly and fast late Tuesday in the Ybor City area, turning onto trolley tracks while trying to flee, police say.
Griffin refused to stop when police tried to pull him over for running a stop sign, according to a criminal arrest affidavit.
Griffin, 28, of Longwood drove without regard for himself or others about 10:17 p.m. Tuesday in a "high traffic area heavily populated with pedestrians," the affidavit states.
He was arrested at 12:10 a.m. today at Seventh Avenue and Angel Oliva Street.
Griffin was charged with a felony count of fleeing to elude police and misdemeanor counts of reckless driving and resisting arrest without violence.
He was taken to Orient Road Jail. Bail was set at $2,750.
