SARASOTA COUNTY - Deputies raided two marijuana grow houses this week, both of them on large acreages east of Interstate 75.
Sheriff's deputies arrested two Cuban men after raiding property at 3777 Hidden River Road, an 11-acre property in the airport community south of Fruitville Road.
The raid came the day after a raid at 6570 Old Ranch Road in the Myakka Valley Ranches neighborhood, an approximately 5-acre property.
Arrested at the Hidden River raid were Hector Diaz, 48 and Oreste Cordero-Garcia, 42, who told deputies his profession was self-employed farmer.
They face charges of drug trafficking, cultivating mariajuana and manufacturing drug paraphernalia.
