NEW YORK - Levance Fields hit a 3-pointer with 4.7 seconds left in overtime to give No. 11 Pittsburgh a 65-64 victory over No. 6 Duke in a matchup of unbeatens Thursday night.
Duke's Jon Scheyer took a running 3 and was able to grab the rebound and get off a final shot but it was another miss for the Blue Devils (10-1).
Fields, who finished with 21 points for the Panthers (11-0), hit all three of Pittsburgh's 3-pointers in the game.
Gerald Henderson of Duke tied the game at 58 on a jumper with 56 seconds left in regulation.
Sam Young had 17 points for Pittsburgh, while freshman DeJuan Blair had 15 points and 20 rebounds and his energy on the boards was a big key for the Panthers in their comeback from a 13-point deficit four minutes into the second half.
CLEMSON 90, P.R.-MAYAGUEZ 73: K.C. Rivers had 21 points and 11 rebounds to help No. 15 Clemson (9-0) beat Division II Puerto Rico-Mayaguez (1-11) in the San Juan Shootout.
MIAMI 85, NORTH FLORIDA 63: Jack McClinton and Dwayne Collins each scored 13 points to lead No. 22 Miami (11-0) over North Florida (1-9).
The Hurricanes were never threatened after scoring 11 straight points midway through the first half.
'Tough' McCants Leads No. 3 Tar Heels
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Rashanda McCants had 19 points, rebounding from a bloody fall earlier in the week to lead No. 3 North Carolina to a 93-60 win against Western Kentucky (6-4).
McCants caught an elbow in the forehead Monday night and needed stitches. North Carolina coach Sylvia Hatchell said then the fall would only toughen McCants up.
McCants had five points during a 14-6 first-half run that put North Carolina (12-1) ahead 31-20. She later added a jumper and a 3-pointer as the Tar Heels grabbed a 53-30 lead in the second half.
MARYLAND 71, JAMES MADISON 65: Laura Harper scored 24 points and Maryland (14-1) rallied to beat James Madison (6-3), ending the longest Division I home winning streak at 30 games.
OKLAHOMA 121, CEN. ARKANSAS 48:Courtney Paris recorded her 71st consecutive double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds and Oklahoma (8-2) tied its single-game scoring mark.
Central Arkansas (2-8) suited up eight players, including four freshmen, and suffered its second-worst loss ever.
G. WASHINGTON 66, TEXAS A&M 65: Sarah-Jo Lawrence scored a career-high 29 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation, and George Washington (9-3) upset Texas A&M (9-2).
DEPAUL 102, NORTHWESTERN 64. Allie Quigley scored 31 points to lead No. 15 DePaul (10-0) over Northwestern (4-8). Deirdre Naughton added 17 points to help the Blue Demons, off to their best start in team history.
TEXAS 62, ARIZONA STATE 51: Brittainey Raven scored 18 points, Kathleen Nash had 10 points and nine rebounds and Texas (9-2) won its seventh straight.
MICHIGAN STATE 73, PROVIDENCE 35: Brittney Thomas scored 15 points and Kalisha Keane added 14 to lead No. 23 Michigan State (8-3) to a rout of Providence (8-3).
Alyssa DeHaan became the fastest player in NCAA Division I history to reach the 200-block mark while playing in her freshman and sophomore seasons. DeHaan has 201 blocks in 44 career games.
OLD DOMINION 70, DELAWARE ST. 28: Jessica Canady had 12 points and 13 rebounds to help No. 25 Old Dominion (7-3) beat Delaware State (3-7).
