WILD 6, RANGERS 3: Marian Gaborik posted the NHL's first five-goal game in a decade, lifting Minnesota over New York.

Gaborik's outburst was the biggest in the league since Sergei Fedorov scored five for Detroit on Dec. 26, 1996, in an overtime game against Washington.

PENGUINS 5, BRUINS 4: Sidney Crosby scored a goal, assisted on two by Evgeni Malkin, and dropped the gloves for the first time in the NHL to spur Pittsburgh to a shootout victory over Boston.

CANADIENS 5, CAPITALS 2: Guilliaume Latendresse scored two goals in his return from a benching as Montreal beat Washington.

THRASHERS 3, SENATORS 2: Todd White's power-play goal 47 seconds into the third period broke a tie and helped Atlanta snap Ottawa's winning streak at six.

PANTHERS 5, HURRICANES 4: Brett McLean scored the winner, and Florida moved above .500 for the first time this season with a win over Carolina.

BLUES 3, RED WINGS 2: Keith Tkachuk and Lee Stempniak scored power-play goals to help St. Louis beat Detroit.
