Murder-Suicide Victims' Family Has Words Of Thanks

LARGO - One week after five people were killed in what authorities think was a domestic bloodbath, the family of three of the victims has issued a statement.

On Dec. 14, Oliver Bernsdorff, a Pinellas County teacher, killed his two small children, Olivia and Magnus; their mother, Bernsdorff's ex-wife Jennifer Davis; and Davis' companion, Andrea Pisanello, authorities have said.

The Davises do not wish to field any questions from the media, nor will they be making any more statements, Largo police Lt. Mike Loux said in a written statement.

Here is the statement from the Davis family, in full:

"We said goodbye to Jennifer Davis and Olivia and Magnus Bernsdorff Thursday in a private ceremony attended by their family.

"The kind words and gestures of friends, acquaintances, co-workers, and even strangers have helped restore our belief in the goodness of people that was shattered on Friday December 14th.

"Our family has been forever altered by this unthinkable crime. Those of us who love Jennifer, Olivia, and Magnus will find strength and courage in each other and now must begin the long process of learning to live with our losses.

"So many people have helped us these past days that we cannot possibly name them all. We do want to particularly thank:

"the Largo Police Department and the other law enforcement agencies, who worked so professionally and yet compassionately;

"the Largo Police Department Victim Assistant Coleen Chaney, who is truly an angel sent to guide us; and

"the Hospice of the Sun Coast, who even though they are mourning the loss of their co-workers they have reached out to us to do what they do best - helping us through the grief of this senseless loss.

"May the love of God shine upon Jennifer, Olivia, Magnus, and Andrea.

"May the peace of God sustain us all in the days ahead."
