MILWAUKEE - Dominic James and Jerel McNeal scored 18 points each as No. 10 Marquette beat Coppin State 89-42 on Friday night.
Marquette (9-1) held Coppin State scoreless for more than 7 minutes during a dominant 22-0 run that put the game out of reach midway through the second half, playing suffocating defense against a team that had been held to less than 40 points in its previous two games.
James and the Golden Eagles' backcourt shut down Tywain McKee, Coppin State's leading scorer at 17.1 points per game. McKee didn't take a shot from the field in 22 minutes and finished the game with two points, both on free throws.
CLEMSON 90, DEPAUL 74: The size of No. 15 Clemson proved too much for DePaul.
Trevor Booker scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help the Tigers beat the Blue Demons in the San Juan Shootout.
BRIGHAM YOUNG 70, SOUTHERN UTAH 55: Jonathan Tavernari scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half to lead Brigham Young past Southern Utah.
The win extended the 21st-ranked Cougars' home winning streak to 38 games, the longest active streak in the nation.
SAINT LEO 84, COLUMBIA UNION 57: Jordan Praid had 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead Saint Leo past Columbia Union in the Lions' first game of the UDC Christmas Classic in the city of Washington.

California Women Cruise Past Kansas
BERKELEY, Calif. - Alexis Gray-Lawson scored 16 of her season-high 25 points in the first half and No. 12 California returned from an 11-day break for final exams to beat Kansas 74-41 on Friday night in its last nonconference game of the season.
This game was a far different outcome for Gray-Lawson than Cal's previous matchup with Kansas last December, when she tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee. She needed surgery and missed the rest of the season.
Friday, she scored 12 points in the first 11 minutes, making four of five shots as Cal began the game shooting 61 percent. Gray-Lawson shot 8-for-13 and received a standing ovation when she took a seat for good with 2:44 left in the game.
DUKE 92, BUCKNELL 49: Chante Black and Joy Cheek each scored 19 points and No. 14 Duke routed Bucknell.
Abby Waner added 16 points, Jasmine Thomas had 12 and Wanisha Smith 11 for Duke (9-3). No Blue Devils starter played more than 27 minutes.
NOTRE DAME 67, IUPUI 44: Charel Allen had 12 points and five steals and No. 17 Notre Dame defeated IUPUI for its eighth straight win.
Devereaux Peters had 11 points and four blocks, Lindsay Schrader scored 10 points and Tulyah Gaines tied a career high with nine assists for the Irish (10-1).
