After pushing his father and causing him to fall, James Brandon Baker of Temple Terrace went to his back yard and used a revolver to fire five .38-caliber rounds into the air, police say.
Temple Terrace police arrested Baker, 23, this morning.
He was charged with discharging a firearm within Temple Terrace's city limits, discharging a firearm under the influence and battery.
Baker pushed his father about 1 a.m., causng the man to fall, a criminal arrest affidavit says. His father's left arm struck an unknown piece of furniture, leaving a 4-inch scrape and bruising along the forearm.
An officer detected a strong odor of alcohol on Baker's breath and said Baker's speech was slurred, according the affidavit.
He remained in Orient Road Jail on Sunday. Bail was not set.
