In 2007, Pasco County moved into the retail big leagues with the opening of the first mall in central Pasco, The Grove at Wesley Chapel, just north of County Road 54 on Oakley Boulevard. The outdoor center opened in November with a lineup of stores that includes Best Buy, Toys R Us, Dick's Sporting Goods and Bed Bath & Beyond.
In spring 2008, The Grove will add retailers Michaels, Ross, TJ Maxx and PetSmart, as well as a 16-screen movie theater.
Two more malls are expected to open: Shops at Wiregrass and Cypress Creek Town Center.
The Shops at Wiregrass, at State Road 56 and Bruce B. Downs Boulevard, will have three anchors: JCPenney, Macy's and Dillard's. Rounding out the plaza will be Barnes & Noble, Gymboree, American Eagle Outfitters, Starbucks, Chipotle, Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret, Williams-Sonoma, The Children's Place amd more.
The Cypress Creek Town Center, the biggest of the three malls, will have Costco, SuperTarget, Kohl's, Books-A-Million, Old Navy, Circuit City, Linens-N-Things, P.F. Chang's and Panera Bread. It could open as early as the fall at Interstate 75 and State Road 56.
