Wimauma Pedestrian Killed By Truck

RUSKIN - A 25-year-old Wimauma man was struck and killed by a car Monday night along College Avenue near 6th Street SE.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Robert S. Cavazos, 5102 James Drive, was standing in the outside lane of College Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. when a pickup truck driven by Servando Silva, 65, of 17610 U.S. 301 S., Wimauma, attempted to swerve to avoid hitting the man.
The truck struck the pedestrian with its front right corner and he died at the scene.
The FHP report says charges are pending.
