GO FISHING is a daily look at the area fishing scene through the eyes of local charter boat captains and fishing guides. Today: Bill Miller.

Bill Robinson from Gandy Bait and Tackle reports sheepshead are moving to the Gandy Bridge. Live shrimp, rock crabs or fiddler crabs are the best baits fished on the bottom near the pilings. Spanish mackerel are also biting well on live or fresh-cut greenbacks under a cork. Use a wire leader to prevent cut-offs. Jim Ivey has been catching some nice speckled trout at sunrise and sunset around the rocks using 52M and 7M MirrOlures.

Grouper are moving into the near-shore ledges off Pass-a-Grille. Kenny Hyatt and Ray Smith have been limiting out using live pinfish and white bait. Hyatt reports the grouper are very light in color, indicating they have just migrated inshore.

Upper Tampa Bay has been producing good redfish catches around Cooper's Point, Mobley Bay and Cabbagehead Bayou. On high incoming tide, fish the shorelines and mangroves using white bait and shrimp. On the falling and low tide fish the outer sand flats with a tailless live shrimp.

Reports from the 22nd Street Causeway area indicate the bite is on. Big black drum and sheepshead are biting around the bridge and docks on live shrimp and oysters. Redfish are hot along Palmetto Beach and the McKay Bay shoreline on incoming water. On low water fish the Palm River edges for snook, ladyfish and jacks.

Captain Bill Miller hosts "Hooked on Fishing" on Thursdays and Sundays from 7-8 p.m., and Fridays and Mondays from 11 a.m.-noon on Bright House Networks Catch 47.
